Unruly Studios is growing quickly and we’re looking for an Operations Assistant to join the Unruly team in Boston to support our CEO in all the Unruliness she gets into! Unruly Studios is a for-profit, educational technology startup based in Boston, MA. We create products that engage students with coding through active, recess-style play. Unruly Splats, are super-durable, programmable floor buttons that students in elementary through middle school can control through code. Students learn STEM literacy by using our block code language inspired by Scratch, to change the lights, sounds and collaborate to play active games like relay races and whack-a-mole. They can make their own rules and create new games. Unruly Splats encourage students to think about games and coding in a new way!The Unruly team is made up of experts in cognitive science, toy manufacturing, education, and technology with experience on teams at Scratch, the MIT Media Lab, Hasbro, Mattel, Nickelodeon, iRobot, and Disney. Investors include Techstars, LearnLaunch, AT&T, and Amazon.

What You’ll Be Doing:

 Supporting the CEO:
● Managing CEO’s schedule, email, meeting preparation, and follow through on commitments
● Attend key meetings with the CEO and support internal and external communication
● Research on key topics and contacts in preparation of upcoming initiatives
● Answering phone calls on behalf of the CEO

Team Operations:
● Coordinate monthly team offsite meeting; logistics including travel, lodging, meals and activities     
● Manage the hiring process, including the job postings, scheduling interviews, and follow-up
● Own and update employee paid time off calendar
● Manage the new employee onboarding process and ongoing benefits updates
● Coordinate 360 review process internally                                            

Special Projects:
● Coordinate relationship with part-time CFO / Bookkeeping firm
● Participate in customer support conversations by phone and online chat
● Coordinate logistics and travel for events (trade shows, conferences, etc) for sales and marketing team members
● Take on operations and other miscellaneous projects as they arise

What We’re Looking For

● True right-hand; reliable
● 3-5 years of experience supporting a C-level executive
● Experience in a startup environment, supporting a small, growing team is a plus
● Ability to exercise discretion regarding confidential materials
● Soft-skills, flexibility
● High EQ
● Proactive individual; self-reliant
● Exceptional interpersonal skills
● Excellent written communication skills
● Proficient in Gmail, calendar software, Microsoft Office, Google Suite
● Great at learning new online tools and willingness to dive in (talk to support, etc) to figure them out
● Extremely organized
● Great at building relationships
● Good at staying on track with deadlines and follow-up
● Ability to manage projects/events
● Great at navigating the web to conduct research
● Willing to learn and research new tasks as they arise
● Some travel expected
● Must be Unruly
