Bryanne grew up in NH where she learned business from her restaurateur parents who have owned Murphy’s on the Green for over 30 years. She worked in timepiece product development at Harry Winston and in project management and sales at adMarketplace. She has a degree in Cognitive Science from McGill, an MBA from Babson, and was named a 2018 Inc Rising Star.
Paul is a veteran of children’s television animation, where he has worked as a Creative Director and Principal Designer for brands such as Nickelodeon, Disney, MTV, and Sesame Workshop. Before joining Unruly, Paul was the Chief Creative Officer for Tiggly, an award-winning learning toy company, and early thought leader in the physical + digital space.
Emily manages Unruly EDU support and outreach. She develops new ways to bring play and Unruliness into the classroom. Emily has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Emily has designed and curated materials for public television, classrooms, and a variety of K-12 STEM projects.
David is our product design and development lead. He has developed toys, such as Star Wars Lightsabers, GI Joe, RC and Matchbox cars… with Hasbro, Mattel, Lionel and Tyco toys. He has consulted with various Kid-related startups and designed athletic equipment for several companies. Look for him on the Netflix TV series, “The Toys that Made Us”.
Daniel began his engineering journey as a kid who liked to build things with electronics and software, so he was delighted to help Unruly bring some of the first Splats prototypes to life. At iRobot, Daniel led software development for the second-generation Roomba robot vacuum and multiple robotic toys. He is named on fourteen patents.
Amon earned a doctorate (of Unruliness?) from MIT’s Media Lab where he co-invented the Scratch programming language. He’s an Assistant Professor of Computing at the Olin College of Engineering. He directs the Extending Access to STEM Empowerment (EASE) Lab, where Bryanne showed up with a Splat prototype and a dream. Amon has a hand in most aspects of Unruly.
Humberto has been a software developer for 10 years in the finance and edtech industries. Before joining Unruly Studios, Humberto was the Lead Developer for Tiggly, where he developed award-winning learning apps designed to work with connected toys for tablets. Humberto graduated from Full Sail University’s Game Development program in 2008.
Shawn Wallace is a creative coder and hardware hacker in RI. He was an editor at O'Reilly Media and wrote several books including Getting Started with Raspberry Pi. Shawn was a designer at Modern Device and was the local guru for the Providence Fab Academy. Lately he's been making new mobile musical instruments including Fluxly, Noisemusick and DR-OM.
Lauren is the Unruly Marketing Director responsible for messaging, lead generation, content, and community. After graduating from business school from Vancouver, B.C., she worked in the 3D printing space in Product Marketing for the last 5 years, launching award-winning products and building global marketing campaigns.
Yen manages Unruly Marketing Technology and Analytics. While at iRobot, she was a part of the marketing team that launched several award-winning Roomba and Braava products on a global scale. It was there that she found her passion for STEM outreach and continues to share that passion today, with a little bit more Unruliness.
Tu Anh (two-Anne) loves hats, both on her head and in her many roles. She does a little of everything—design, copywriting, editing, game creation—but most importantly she gets to collaborate with educators on sharing and creating engaging activities for all learners. Previously, she helped develop children’s books at HarperCollins Publishers before transitioning into the classroom as an inclusion teacher for Boston Public Schools.
Ryan contributes to Unruly content and lessons, as well as the early phases of school support and getting new users started with Splats! In a previous life, Ryan was destined to become a college Music Major, but professional wedding photography claimed him for many years instead. Following the wedding circuit, he worked as a lead immersive experience designer, then an Instructor for the Fab Lab - AS220 in Providence, RI.
Brendon helps introduce Splats to new schools and educators! He earned his B.S. in Engineering from Miami University before entering the workforce. After initially pursuing a career in Engineering, Brendon transitioned to a customer-facing role in Sales. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to join the small but dedicated team at Unruly! In his free time he enjoys getting outside and playing sports, especially golf. He also loves spending time coaching youth sports in his area. Through STEM and active play, Brendon believes we can help shape young learners into students prepared to build the future.
