The play never stops at Unruly Studios and we are thrilled to announce that we are recipients of the Tech & Learning 2021 Awards for the Best Remote & Blended Learning Tools!
When schools moved to remote learning, our team got to work to create content to support teachers and students learning from home. We rallied behind the idea of unstoppable play — playful learning is more important than ever during COVID and we are committed to finding creative ways for students to find joy through creating games. We empowered unstoppable play by creating flexible lesson plans, games, activities, and guides that work in a virtual classroom environment. We also accelerated the launch of our new Splats app which makes it possible to play full-screen Splat games virtually.
“In 2020, we listened to our teacher community to inspire several new features and curriculum guides that helped bring Unruly Splats into their virtual, hybrid, and in-person classrooms,” said Bryanne Leeming, founder and CEO of Unruly Studios. “I’m incredibly proud of our team for ensuring that teachers felt supported in integrating STEM and play during a year of rapid change and uncertainty.”
Educators, students, and families have shown tremendous resiliency since the switch to virtual learning. A main driver during this time for Unruly was to make this transition to virtual learning as smooth as possible while still creating engaging and valuable material for students. We also recognized that time is hard to come by, so we created flexible, cross curricular lesson plans that incorporated STEM and coding into other courses like music and physical education class.
The Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence are a legacy award program produced by Tech & Learning Magazine that recognizes innovation in the edtech industry. The Best Remote & Blended Learning Tools is a new program added this year in recognition of the critical role that edtech played in helping schools continue to teach and engage students under unprecedented circumstances.
Unruly Studios is honored to be recognized for this edtech award and look forward to continuously following our mission of bringing in unstoppable play to every school community whether in-person or virtual! Want to know more about the edtech award? Check out the full press release here.
