WHAT ARE UNRULY SPLATS?

Unruly Splats combine computer science and block coding with active, collaborative, recess-style play. Splats are big, super-durable, programmable floor buttons that light up, make noise, respond to touch (especially stomps), and more!

SPLATS ARE PROGRAMMED THROUGH THE UNRULY SPLATS APP

The Unruly Splats App comes with a number of pre-loaded games, activities, and starting points. Students are encouraged to play pre-built games, customize existing games, and build their own games using the App, which they can access anywhere with an internet connection.
Splats are designed to enhance learning experiences and engagement in any classroom subject. For instance, use them as voting machines in social studies, calculators that can be jumped on in math, or a piano that can be danced on in music!

WHAT IS AN UNRULY MEMBERSHIP?

LEARNING WITH SPLATS

Coding is a language, and similar to the process of learning a new language, immersion is key! The more you’re able to use Splats in the classroom in a number of different ways—explicit block-coding instruction, brain break, classroom tool, indoor recess—the more students will naturally pick up on foundational block-coding skills.

In other words, building block-coding muscles happens over time and with exposure, so we recommend focusing on exploring the app, playing games together as a class, and incorporating Splats into classroom routines until students are ready to start programming their own code.
