Unruly Studios Giveaway Sweepstakes Official Rules

These are the official rules that explain how the Unruly Hour of Code Contest (the “Sweepstakes”) will operate. Please review these rules carefully. In these rules, “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to Unruly Studios, Inc. the sponsor of the Sweepstakes. “You,” “yourself,” “I”, “me,” and “my” refers to an eligible Sweepstakes entrant. By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to be bound by these rules.

NO PAYMENT OR PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PAYMENT OR PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

1. Sweepstakes Description

Between November 12, 2019 and December 2, 2019 Unruly Studios will be promoting the Unruly Hour of Active Code, on its Twitter (@unruly_studios). To participate in the Sweepstakes, you must follow Unruly Studios on twitter, share, re-tweet, or re-post an Unruly Studios post that contains directions on how to enter and tag at least 1 other educator in your re-tweet who you think would be interested. Once you have done so, you will then be automatically entered to win an Hour of Code with the Unruly Splats Team. Entry eligibility will be determined using the criteria in Section 4. Each eligible entry will be included in a random drawing and the two selected entries (one from New England and one outside New England) will win a guided Hour of Active Code with the Unruly Team (see paragraph 6 below for details).

2. Start and End Dates

This Sweepstakes runs for three weeks, starting at 9 AM ET on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 and ending at 12 PM ET on Monday, December 2, 2019 (the “Entry Period”). Entries must be received within the Entry Period to be eligible. Any received outside of the Entry Period will not be considered.

3. Eligible Entrants

You are eligible to enter this Sweepstakes if you meet the following requirements:
●  You are a resident of the United States or Canada. 

● You are currently serving as an educator or administrator at an elementary or middle school in the United States or Canada.

● You are not an employee of Unruly Studios or an immediate family or household member of an Unruly Studios employee ; and you are not involved in any part of the administration and execution of this Sweepstakes.

4. Eligible Entries

Eligible entries are made in the following way:

  1. Follow Unruly Studios on Twitter (@unruly_studios)
  2. Share, Retweet, or Repost Unruly Studios’ official social media contest post 
  3. On your re-tweet, tag another educator who you think would be interested in the Unruly Hour of Active Code
  4. Include the hashtags “#HourOfCode” and “#ThinkUnruly”. For those applying from inside New England, please indicate by including  #NewEngland to enter to win the in-person prize.

To be eligible for entry, your posts must remain up until the Entry Period is over. All posts as of the end of the Entry Period will be automatically entered to win the grand prize. There is a limit of one (1) entry for each account. You must have a social media account on the platform on which the promotional posting is posted, your account or post must be set to “public”, and you must follow the Unruly Studios social media account to be eligible. You can return your account or post to “private” and unfollow that social media platform account any time after the winner has been announced. 

Entrants must take the actions required and must include the information requested by Unruly Studios in order for entries to be eligible. Late and/or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means, or by any means which subvert the entry process are void.

We are not responsible for entries that we do not receive for any reason, or for entries that we receive but are unable to view.

5. Use of Entries

Other than what is set forth below, we are not claiming any ownership rights to your entry. However, by submitting your entry, you:
●  Are granting us an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to: (i) use and repost your entry and all its content in connection with this Sweepstakes; and (ii) feature your entry and all its content in connection with the promotion of this Sweepstakes in all media (now known or later developed);

If you are the prize winner, allow us to publicize your name and school in one or more press releases;

●  Agree to sign any necessary documentation that may be required for us and our designees to make use of the rights you granted above; and
●  Understand that you will not receive any compensation or credit for use of your entry, other than what is described in these Official Rules.

If you do not want to grant us these rights to your entry, please do not enter this Sweepstakes

6. Prizes

Grand Prize (We will choose two winners): 

  • One winner from a school within New England (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont) will win an Hour of Active Code with the Unruly founding team in person.

  • One winner from a school outside the New England area will win a virtual training with the Unruly founding team for Hour of Active Code. We will ship you 12 Splats to use for Hour of Code that you can keep for the month of December. You will ship the Splats back to us in January (Unruly Studios will cover the shipping!).

7. Notifying Winners

Unruly Studios will randomly select the Grand Prize winner from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period on or around December 3, 2019.

If you are selected as a winner, we will notify you by posting a message on your repost and/or sending you a direct message on that platform to provide further instructions on how and when you may collect your prize. If provided, we will also send a message to the email address, phone number, or mailing address associated with your entry within seven days following the selection. In addition, we will post a screenshot of your entry on our own social media platforms to notify all participants that a winner has been selected and to share your response with the Unruly community. If we are unable to reach you within 7 days from the announcement, we may award the prize to an alternate selected winner.
8. Additional Conditions

By entering this Sweepstakes you agree:

  1. To abide by these Official Rules;
  2. To abide by the Unruly Studios’ Contest & Sweepstakes Terms and Conditions, Terms and Conditions of Use, Privacy Policies, and other policies pertaining to the website, although these rules take precedence;
  3. That Unruly Studios’ decisions will be final and binding on all matters related to this Sweepstakes;
  4. That Unruly Studios may use your proper name and state of residence online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Sweepstakes, without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law; and
  5. This Sweepstakes will be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of Massachusetts courts (state and federal) for any disputes arising out of this Sweepstakes.

The Unexpected

If someone cheats, or a virus, bug, catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, (also referred to as force majeure) affects the fairness and / or integrity of this Sweepstakes, we reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Sweepstakes. This right is reserved whether the event is due to human or technical error. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the Sweepstakes, we reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Sweepstakes.
